FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

The IEC is a 10-digit code issued by the DGFT that is mandatory for any person or company looking to engage in import or export activities in India. It is a primary requirement for customs clearance and international bank transactions.

The Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) scheme is a government initiative that allows an importer to import capital goods (machinery, equipment) at zero customs duty. In return, the importer is obligated to export goods worth six times the duty saved, over a period of six years. It's designed to boost manufacturing and export competitiveness.

Our consultancy can save you money in several ways: by ensuring you pay the correct amount of customs duty, helping you leverage Free Trade Agreements, maximizing your claims under various export incentive schemes like Duty Drawback, and preventing costly penalties from non-compliance.

The first legal step is to establish a business entity (e.g., a sole proprietorship, partnership, or company) and then obtain a Permanent Account Number (PAN). Following this, you must apply for and obtain an Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) from the DGFT.
